The Thirty-Ninth Annual Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS) took place across two official locations: San Diego, USA (Dec 2–7, 2025) and Mexico City, Mexico (Nov 30–Dec 5, 2025). In parallel, EurIPS, a Europe-based AI conference officially endorsed by NeurIPS, was held in Copenhagen, Denmark (Dec 2–7, 2025).
At these events, members of our CRC presented their latest SmallData research. “TabArena: A Living Benchmark for Machine Learning on Tabular Data”, authored by researchers including our PI Frank Hutter and doctoral researcher Lennart Purucker, was featured in Poster Session 3 in San Diego and in the Day 2 poster session in Copenhagen. The work was also selected for a spotlight talk in Copenhagen!
Their paper introduces TabArena, a new benchmark for tabular machine learning designed to stay up to date as models improve and new issues are discovered. Unlike traditional static benchmarks, TabArena is continuously maintained by an experienced team, with carefully curated datasets and well-implemented models, plus a public leaderboard and fully reproducible code. TabArena is publicly available at https://tabarena.ai.
Frank and Lennart also contributed to the organization of the EurIPS workshop “AI for Tabular Data,” held on Dec 6, 2025. You can learn more about the event here.
We’re grateful to our members for their contributions to these prestigious conferences, and we look forward to their continued advances in machine learning research!
