Freiburg is strengthening its position in cancer research with the establishment of a new Professorship for Bioinformatics within the Collaborative Research Institute Intelligent Oncology (CRIION), now held by our Associated Researcher Maria Kalweit. The research will focus on developing machine learning methods to enable data-driven diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic approaches in oncology and hematology. An aim is to create transparent and trustworthy AI models that remain reliable even in small data settings. More information can be found here.
