SmallData is proud to have contributed to a new executive report from the Royal Society on Disability Technology. The report outlines how data and digital tools can support independent, fulfilled lives.
A key part of the report focuses on small data. Building on our Small Data Explainer, it explores small data research through the lens of our three main concepts: similarity, transfer, and uncertainty. It also highlights the importance of interdisciplinary work on artificial intelligence techniques, with contributions from computer science, mathematics, statistics, and biomedicine.
The report calls on governments, researchers, and technology companies to remove barriers by improving funding, training, and infrastructure, and by working directly with disabled communities.
We’re glad to be part of this international effort. Thank you to everyone involved in moving this work forward!
